Welcome to The Quartermasters
As proud custodians of this historical architectural gem in the County town of Dorchester, we are delighted to present The Quartermaster stores - a sympathetic conversion into 4 exclusive town houses.
Whether it is the ornate chimneys, high ceilings, flagstone floors or double height traditional windows, every home has been individually designed to be respectful of its heritage, in order to retain these wonderful traditional features, as well as providing the modern specification that customers expect.
The construction of The Quartermaster Stores occurred at the end of the 19th Century, after troops were recalled from abroad and the creation of county regiments.
The Quartermaster Stores have been identified as an important local building, attributed to the Head of Design at the War Office - Major AC Seddon.
The Quartermasters stores are centrally Located in the historic county town of Dorchester and is within easy walking distance of a wide range of facilities, including The County Hospital, Thomas Hardey School, Lidl and Sainsburys, to name but a few. The recent development of Brewery Square has provided its cinema, along with a choice of eating and drinking establishments. The town boasts two train stations - the Bristol line and the Waterloo line.
Locally you are only a short drive away to Weymouth and the Jurassic coast and all of it delights.
The Quartermaster Stores were built for the Dorset Regiment and, as the name would suggest, were used as the stores for the Quartermaster. More recently, the property was owned and used by the local authority as offices and stores, until the recent sale for redevelopment.
The homes will be both spacious and light, with well laid out accommodation, thoughtfully incorporating many of the fine period features within the original building. In addition, properties will be enhanced with up-to-date modern conveniences.
Each home has private access and courtyard gardens to rear and will benefit from two private parking spaces.
